Psa 119:105 Your Word is
a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path. (MKJV)
Psa 9:10 And those who know
Your name will put their trust in You; for You, Jehovah, have not forsaken
those who seek You. (MKJV)
What is life’ guiding lamp? For life’s key decisions, whose counsel may be trusted?
Only God’s. You must hear from God, and no other source.
But how may we hear from God?
God can and does speak through all of these means: emotions, instincts, thoughts, friends, circumstances, common sense, leaders, and Scripture. But all these channels are fallible; all corrupt and distort His message.
How then can we know what God is saying?
Here is the key to knowing God’s will: You never know for sure. This is why Jesus said, "Ask [and keep on asking]; seek [and keep on seeking]; knock [and keep on knocking]" (Mat. 7:7) .Our hearts and minds must be incessantly consumed with a craving for clarity and certainty. We cannot pause in our quest for closer communion and union with Him.
Asking IS receiving; seeking IS finding. God desires that our asking be as breathing; and the one who always asks has already found God’s will. God’s voice is always heard by those who always seek Him, for only those who hear Him seek Him. He is the Pied Piper of Heaven.
Isa 26:8 Yea, in the way of
Your judgments, O Jehovah, we awaited You; for Your name and for Your memory
is the desire of our soul.
Isa 26:9 With my soul I desired
You in the night; yea, with my spirit within me I will seek You early;
for when Your judgments are in the earth, the people of the world learn
righteousness.
